Unlike choke chains or prong collars, which can cause injury and pain if not used correctly, martingale collars are designed to gently tighten when your dog pulls, encouraging them to stop pulling without causing any harm.
They're also recommended for dogs who are more prone to slipping out of more traditional collars, whether it's due to being skittish or due to their anatomical features (ex. their head and neck are similar in diameter, such as greyhounds, whippets, pit bulls, etc.).
